Sources

We prioritize official Minecraft, Mojang and Xbox communications, then official storefronts and trailers, then the game files themselves. Anything only reported, and not yet confirmed by Mojang or the game, sits in a section of its own and is never presented as official.

Data methodology

Every factual record keeps its source and the date it was checked in our data. Unknown information stays marked as unknown; details from the first Minecraft Dungeons are treated as historical context, not evidence for the sequel.

Item pages combine official posts for when an item was first shown, combat figures, drop regions and enchantment tiers read from the launch build's game files, and gameplay we watched that tested the item. Those figures are base values from the item tables, before item power scales them.

Editorial policy

Each indexable page must answer a distinct search intent, provide a useful direct answer, rest on sources we can name internally and add information that is not primarily duplicated elsewhere. Major announcements update the relevant evergreen pages as well as the news archive.

Build and tier-list testing

A ranking needs a release-build version, test date, reviewer check date, observable sources, test conditions, a reason and a limitation. Comparisons must record difficulty, item power and supporting equipment. Bossing, clearing, solo, co-op and progression are different contexts; an untested item is unranked, not automatically low tier.

Community claims and preview demonstrations do not become final-game tests merely because the release date passes. When balance changes, affected placements are reviewed again.

A category ranking becomes eligible for search only after it contains at least three distinct evidenced items in the same context. A build needs resolved equipment links, a tested play loop, strengths, weaknesses, assembly instructions and a practical alternative. Generic status text does not make an empty entity page eligible for search.

Corrections

A useful correction identifies the page URL, the disputed claim, the game version and a screenshot, recording or primary-source URL that demonstrates the issue. Keep personal account information out of screenshots. We compare the evidence with the original source, update the canonical record and record material recommendation changes in its version history.
