Talismans

A passive-effect category that did not exist in the first game. Three slots, and each talisman carries its own level.

Talismans are the one wholly new equipment category in Dungeons II. The demo build's inventory shows three talisman slots of their own, below weapons, armour and artifacts — and each talisman carries a level, which no other equipment type does.

Ten of the twelve are names from the wiki's Dungeons II pages with no effect published. Where a talisman below carries an effect, it is because the game itself displayed it.

Summons a furry friend to fight by your side!

They level as you play

This is the part Mojang stated outright rather than left to a screenshot: talismans give passive bonuses and gain experience, upgrading as you play. The example given on stage was the Tasty Bone, which summons a wolf companion — and the demo build does show a wolf fighting alongside the hero through Wading Rainy Plains. What a level actually changes has not been said.
