Minecraft Dungeons II is a top-down hack-and-slash action RPG developed by Mojang Studios in collaboration with Double Eleven, and published by Xbox Game Studios on Windows and Xbox and by Mojang Studios on other platforms. It is a direct sequel to 2020's Minecraft Dungeons, continuing that game's story with a new, large-scale threat connected to the Deep Dark and Ancient Cities.
Up to four players can play solo or in co-op, exploring dungeons, fighting mobs, and collecting loot — weapons, armor, artifacts and the newly introduced talismans — to grow stronger and push into new areas. Where the original game structured its content as a sequence of discrete, linear missions, the official Xbox Wire hands-on describes Minecraft Dungeons II as a contiguous, fixed and interconnected world dotted with dungeons.
The game was announced at Minecraft Live 2026 (having leaked earlier under the internal codename "Spicewood") and is scheduled to release September 29, 2026, with day-one availability on Xbox Game Pass.
