Xbox published a feature breakdown of Minecraft Dungeons II on August 26, 2026, alongside the game's playable showing at gamescom. Where the Sift trailer six days earlier revealed a place, this one reveals systems: a hub town, two upgrade merchants, a rebuilt enchanting loop and a fast-travel network across the Overworld map.

The hub is Brave Haven, described as the game's bucolic hub town. Two NPCs live there and both change how gear works between missions. The Blacksmith raises an item's power level for a modest fee and can re-roll the buffs on a piece of equipment — the first confirmation that gear rolls in Dungeons II are not permanent. The Enchantsmith handles enchantments.

Enchantments themselves work differently from the first game. Rather than picking from a fixed pool as an item levels, players find Enchant Books on adventures, and those books unlock new effects that the Enchantsmith can then apply. Xbox did not say whether books are consumed on use, whether they are tied to specific gear types, or how many exist.

The currency behind that loop comes from a new enemy type. Soul Corrupted enemies drop the resource spent on enchantments, which ties the enchanting system directly to combat rather than to a separate economy. It also gives those enemies a mechanical reason to exist beyond flavour — they are the enchantment faucet.

Getting between missions changes too. A minecart network connects points on the Overworld map, replacing menu-driven mission select with in-world travel. Two quality-of-life additions arrived with it: holding up on the D-pad opens a quick-swap mini inventory, explicitly designed so couch co-op partners are not stuck staring at one player's menus, and a consolidated "Effects and Enchantments" screen lists every active effect from gear in one place.

The article also gave the Copper Monstrosity its first confirmed mechanics. The boss fights with lightning attacks and dashes that cross the entire arena — the only Minecraft Dungeons II enemy with published attack behaviour, and a useful signal that the game's bosses are built around arena control rather than raw damage sponges.

Nothing here changes the release date. Minecraft Dungeons II launches September 29, 2026 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, day one on Game Pass.
